RE: delay in getting interupts.

Title: Message
Hi Murali,

This could be a hardware problem.
To confirm,
Check the device registers for interrupt status. ie. usually cards hv a register indicating the generation of interrupt.
keep checking in a loop every 5 ms, and u'll know whether device generated interrupt or not.

hope it helps.

Subject: delay in getting interupts.

Hi all,
After 20hours of running ,my frame grabber driver for SAA7146 chip is getting delayed interupts . Actually i get interupts from the hardware every 33 milli secs under normal working state but after over a period of
time... The interupt time fluctuates from 100-300 ms. I am using linux kernel 2.4.5 and
I am seeing the same problem on 2.4.18 version also .

What is the reason for this?. Is it due to the hardware or is it the problem
with the way my driver is implemented or is it the OS itself.

Thanks in advance for the help.

regards,
Murali.
