compilation problem changes after sources upgradation

Hi

I'm compiling the linux kernel , sometimes it gave problem in 
main.c file.

after i upgraded the kernel source package the error comes in 
someother file that some function in some file is defined 
implicitely,


wher does the problem lies ,

every time i reinstall the linux , error comes in some different 
file
