I personally like slackware. But RedHat is easy to get up and running if you -really- don't know much about anything at all. You can read the helpful manual and be goin' in just a little bit.

 

Suse also provides a nice user interface if you want to look into that, but I find Suse a bit "clunky" in comparison with RedHat or Slackware. For the ultra newbie, I'd look into just using RedHat.
