sk_buff query

Hi,

  I am trying to understand the linux 2.4.x code relating to sk_buff's.
when a sk_buff is in the receive queue of a socket are all fields of the
sk_buff such as cb[48] and other fields contiguous ?? and are all the
headers and data in contiguos area of memory ?? what is the significance
of the tail room in skb , what does it hold ??
