scheduling

Hello All!

I'm looking for documents about Linux scheduler.
May be some good point to start reading?

I have idea, generally theoretical, about move kernel scheduler from cycled
two-way list to some sort of heap.
Current sched.c loops thru list to find process with max goodness. Goodness
function depends on few of values. On change of any of this values I will cut
process from heap and then insert with new goodness value. So instead of loop -
I will have simple cut.
Is there any related works are going?

		Thanks in advance.
