kernel version vs. libc headers...
Hello
Question: how generally bad is having (g)libc compiled against (and having
headers of) a kernel version different from the one used (running) on the
system? AFAIU, affected are only programs compiled in such an environment,
right? And what if you install binaries compiled elsewhere with some other
headers (rpm / deb / i386.tar.gz...). I understand there is some level of
compatibility maintained, otherwise, distribution of such binary packages
would be impossible, but to what extent? Where can one expect problems
Thanks
Guennadi
