i/o from kernel modules

Hi there.  Me again =).

I am writing a module that is supposed to do some I/O access.
Normally I'd use ioperm to get access to the port and inb to
read and outb to write to the port.  But aparrently that
does not work in kernelspace.  That is, I cannot make it work.

What is the alternertive?  The kernelway of doing I/O?
