regd. adding new system calls to the kernel

Hi all,

Could anybody please let me know the procedures for adding a new system call
to the kernel. I went through the book "Linux Kernel Internals" by
Harald Bohme, Mirko Dziadzka, Ulrich Kunitz and others. But the procedures
explained in the book are for a very old kernal version i guess, and dont
hold
good for the recent kernel versions.

I would appreciate u'r help. Perhaps a few pointers to the sites would also
help.
