PROBLEM with aic7xxx driver on 2.2.17
Hi,
I'm having some troubles with a AIC 7896/7 SCSI controler on a VALinux server.
I use the aic7xxx driver on a 2.2.17 kernel and it goes in an infinite loop
during SCSI initialisation (boot or insmod when compiled as a module).
scsi: 2 hosts
scsi: aborting due to timeout: ...
SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0
(scsi0:0:0:-1) Unexpected busfree, LASTPHASE = 0xe0, SEQADDR = 0x161
...
There is only a DLT4000 on the scsi bus.
The strange behaviour is that the driver used to work with a 2.0.36 (VA +
Redhat patches). Do I have to update the firmware (it's the only fixup I read
in the kernel archives and I don't even know if it really have fixed the
problem for others) ?
thanks,
julien
PS: Nothing on VA web (may be the hard is to old ~2 years) and neither on
Adaptech's
PS1: I tried the 2.2.18pre11-VA1.1 from VALinux but without more success
