Re: false asumption or security flaw? (fwd)



I think the real issue here is what happens inside of malloc().  Someone
correct me if my assumptions are wrong, but malloc() grabs a chunk of
memory and glibc holds on to it after it is free()'d.  This memory is
still owned by this process and protected from other processes.  The
glibc info pages have some details on malloc() internals which may help
explain this.
