[humorix] Take the discussion off the list [WAS: Duel Boot in Linux [was: Ineptitude ... ]]
Take it off the list, folks. This is a humor list, not a tech discussion
list. I'm definitely not the moderator, but, Rik mentioned possibly setting
up a second list for discussion of the items that show up on here, and
non-humor related discussion - cause it don't belong here :-) (Hi Rik -
long time no talk!) Last time I checked, dual booting Linux and Windows 98
was far from humorous. Unless, of course, it involved 4 marshmallows, 7.5
inches of 3/4 inch rubber tubing, a small fish, and approximately two pounds
of turkey.
As for those people freaking out - relax. This is a humor mailing list -
have a sense of humor ;-) Seriously - no one is mailing YOU directly.
Instead, they are sending email to a mailing list to which you have
subscribed at one time or another (Humorix, computer and Linux related
humor, IIRC) If you see a message that you THINK is directed at you,
relax - check where it's from. If it's from humorix@nl.linux.org or some
variant, resist the temptation to respond - there is no need (UNLESS you
happen to have a humorous response. However, in this case, simply
mentioning 4 marshmallows, 7.5 inches of 3/4 inch rubber tubing, a small
fish, and approximately two pounds of turkey does not make it a humorous
response. You've been warned - no one ever finds those jokes funny in the
first place. And I believe they are now illegal in 5 US states, and 12
countries worldwide.)
If you are REALLY stuck or angry over this - email me at
midryder@midnightryder.com and ask me how to unsubscribe from this list. I
DO NOT OWN THIS LIST, I'm just trying to help out those who are confused!
:-) (Of course, it doesn't hurt that my company name gets mentioned, or
that I can mention that I write fun games you can download and try out, and
I even get the chance to pimp one of the Open Source (TM) projects that I
deal with, Alliance (http://www.allos.org. And honestly, how often do you
get to mention 4 marshmallows, 7.5 inches of 3/4 inch rubber tubing, a small
fish, and approximately two pounds of turkey in an email?)

Lawyerclysm - mention the 4 marshmallows, 7.5 inches of 3/4 inch rubber
tubing, a small fish, and approximately two pounds of turkey in any other
email, or even quite this email, so I can sick my lawyers on you - it's SO
much more profitable than actually doing WORK! Don't listen to that Open

But, keep your day job...)

<KERSNIP - information on loading Linux and Win98 on the same machine.
Really. Do something better, and just using NT or Linux, an a copy of
VMWare or the free software equivalent. It's much cooler, and requires less
talent even :-)
