Re: [humorix] Microsoft's Anti-Piracy Policy Promotes Piracy
I bought a HP because having worked at Microsoft
new which companies were in bed with them and an executive from HP is on the
Microsoft board. I was wanting to do development. So you know your
system is going to corrupt. So I went to Microsoft web and found out what the
problem was. It said to put the Windows CD in and copy certain DLLs. So I tried
to do their fix and I had one of those CD ROM templates. I had just copied
massive 3d graphic files and other multimedia files to the machine. I called HP
technical support. What did they tell me. Reinstall your system. But that
wasn't the biggest problem, I couldn't patrician my 8G hard drive and duel boot
Linux. All so this fix was not acceptable. Then I found out I also
couldn't buy an upgrade version of the on the shelf Windows and would have to
buy a completely NEW version of Windows to make my machine developer ready.
I'm handicapped and on social security. Every day I'm out of work I cost the taxpayers more money.
I have tried desperately to get some other income. Being one of the first
multimedia people in Windows going back to Win 2.11 graphics in 89, I have a lot
of experience. But I haven't been able to get work due to my
handicap. I'm in a wheel chair because of Microsoft where I worked as a
contractor. There is a 75% unemployment rate among skilled handicapped
people. In this community, it's amazing how many high tech workers like myself
were put here because we contracted at Microsoft. These people are putting
a lot of people on early retirement before they are 40% do to their abusive
employment practices.
It took over a year to save for this computer
and then I had to barrow money from my father. To end up with this kind of a
situation is insane. Now I'm trying to figure out a way to back up my hard
drive. I think I'm going to have to get another drive I don't need so I can
patrician it and put Linux on that one. I'm pressing for their government
contracts which account for 40% of their income. :-) Under federal law, they
have to provide access. The government is already moving their web sites to the
Mac OS just because it's not as popular. :-)
So I keep
writing things for the government about the high cost Microsoft is creating with
their employment practices. I can't wait to see what happens in this next round
of court. Both Gates and Ballmer are going to be interrogated. I'm going to love
this. :-) Wait until Ballmer gets asked about their use of hard core
pornography to promote the sales of Windows 3.0 with the wallpaper feature. It
won't matter much after that whether the DOJ wins a split up or not! I
seriously doubt that Gates or Ballmer will be working at Microsoft when this and
other innovations get aired out! :-) I can't not tell a lie--Mea Culpa. ..
LOL!
